Flipped Classroom: Microeconomics
Teaching in the 21st century means that as teachers we need to embrace technology as it is the primary means of communication for much of the younger generation. I feel that it is very important for teachers to have a method of communicating assignments and homework online with students. It allows for students to interact with each other in order to get clarification and help on assignments. Using an online platform is a powerful tool in creating a learning community within the classroom, which helps students feel involved and like important members of the class. It also allows for those more timid to speak in class to find their voice online.
This link takes you to a video that I created for students to introduce them to the possible shifts of the demand curve. Using this flipped classroom method, students will fill out the attached worksheet while watching the video, allowing us to spend more time in class working with the material that they pre-learned at home. This allows me to check their learning in class through a deeper application of the concept.
